That time of year has finally arrived. That beautiful, romantic, short lived time when you can walk outside and feel happiness and coziness in the air. Unfortunately all these signs also mean that terrible, cold, long months lie ahead of us. But we try to distract ourselves with bonfires, s'mores, hoodies, and pumpkin picking while we can. At least I know I do. Another way I sufficiently distract myself is by putting the most fall colors on my eyes as possible every day.
The best thing about fall makeup is there isn't any specific color range or product that you need to go out and buy to achieve a perfect look for going to the pumpkin patch or a haunted house. In my opinion a lot of "fall" makeup colors are really just year round colors that somehow transform into the perfect fall product once September rolls around. That dark berry lipstick you have had forever? perfect for fall. Those warm toned eye shadow palettes that are so insanely popular right now...yep those too. If you take a fresh look at your makeup collection with fall in mind, you will realize that you can make whatever you have work perfectly for the season.
That being said, I have comprised a list of the top 5 palettes that will give you a perfect fall look. And the best part is you probably already own at least one of them!
5. Morphe 35O2: second nature
Yep. I had to go there. With Morphe newly at Ulta, the YouTube famous brand is being talked about even more than before (if that's possible). Being sold in Ulta has opened them up to a whole new group of people and they are sweeping over customers that never had Morphe as an option before. Especially if you are like me and don't appreciate paying a steep rate for shipping but also don't want to buy $100 of product to get free shipping. This brand is trendy, most of their products are good quality, and they are affordable for what you get. The 35O2 palette is a brand new palette for fall of 2017 and it could not scream fall more. It includes everything you need to create anything from a deep smoky brown eye, fun and flirty sparkling copper lid, all the way to true fiery bright red or pumpkin orange looks. The palette is $23, which is a fantastic price when you realize you are getting 35 different colors and the quality is one of the best yet that Morphe has put out. Its a beautiful palette and I cannot wait to use it non-stop for the next couple of months.
4. Elf Mad for Matte 2
This palette is very beginner friendly and perfect for those of us that love our berry tones. It is an all matte palette, as the name suggests and its blendability is perfection. The quality of the shadows are on par with most of my high end eye shadow palettes and for $10 this palette can't be beat. It offers a perfect range of neutrals, berry tones, and a few cool tones (including a black) and is a good palette for someone who wants to dip their toe into some brighter colors and deeper shades without breaking the bank on something they aren't sure they will use every day. In my opinion, this is a must have palette for every make up lover's collection, whether you are just starting out in makeup or have been wearing it for years and looking for a good palette to supplement all those shimmer and glitter shades.
3. Urban Decay Naked Heat
This palette is a recent addition to the well known Naked line that Urban Decay has rocked for years. The brand dropped it out of no where this past summer and shook up the warm-toned palette game, satisfying everyone's request for hot fiery colors while simultaneously achieving a naked palette that possessed more mattes then shimmers (finally). Although the title and the packaging of this palette screams summer, I can't help but think of it as the perfect fall palette as well. It brings to the table those richly pigmented oranges and reds, deep browns and plums, and my personal favorite: the shade lumber which is an unparalleled orangey-red duo chrome with gold flecks in it. This product is a splurge, ringing in at $54, but if you are a collector of the naked palettes or simply love to treat yourself, this is going to be the palette for you.
2. Colourpop Yes, Please
When it comes to warm toned eye shadows, intense pigment, and superior blendability for a good price, it doesn't get any better than this. This palette, although small and compact, made a very large statement when it came on the market a few months ago. It was the first ever eye shadow palette by colourpop and they are still having trouble keeping it in stock. It is similar to the 35O2 palette in the fact that it offers a range of intensely warm toned shades. So if you don't like warm tones this is not the palette for you. Yes, Please takes the warm tones to the next level when it comes to pigment and the shadows are so smooth and so easy to work with I consider this a worry free, it-will-basically-blend-itself type of product. The palette will really take your fall look to the next level and can be used for day or night looks as it includes a deep brown matte to darken up your look if desired and some gorgeous metallic lid shades. Priced at $16 it is easy to see why Colourpop has not been able to make enough of these palettes to go around. So if you can get your hands on one, I would jump on it. As I'm writing this blog post they are in stock on the Coloupop website so don't think about it, just hurry up and buy it. You won't regret it.
1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
Are you really surprised, though? It is me writing this blog post, after all. And this is my favorite palette. Hands down. Not only fall, but also winter, spring, and summer. This is the palette of all palettes in my opinion and the palette that successfully won over my fierce loyalty to Anastasia Beverly Hills and leaving me in this awkward place where every time the brand releases a new product my bank account becomes mysteriously lighter than before the release. But unless you are crazy like me you probably want to hear about why you should love this palette before you go out and spend the $42 on it. Where do I begin? The quality is the best I've ever used in an eye shadow. Ever. The color selection is so beautiful and versatile, it makes it perfect for any time of the year, day or night. You can wear it to work, a casual weekend event, or your wedding. It is simply the best. Also, there are so many different looks you can do with this palette, the possibilities are really endless. It includes everything from a intense but beautiful and glowing gold shade, deep, rich berry and mauve shades, all the way to burnt oranges and dark browns. It includes shades that can be used as transition shades, there are highlight shades, shades to make a eye look dark and smoky, and perfect all over the lid shades. My favorite look to do with this palette is a deep pink halo eye with that stunning gold shade front and center on my lid. I can't get enough of it. This palette gives you a lot of bang for your buck and is THE perfect palette for fall.
